How To Take A Daily Vacation

Daily Retreats Inside Your Mind

Sink Into Your Inner Self

What is meant by our “higher self?”

It can obviously mean a lot of things to a lot of people.

Whenever people say, “take the high road,” they mean to not give in to emotional reactions, and live or act according to higher principles.

It’s also been said that the true nature of an “enlightened” person is one who can disregard the instinctive programming we all share, and live according to our consciously chosen goals.

We choose to stop eating not because we’re full, but because we’re consciously choosing the shape of our body.

We choose to stop spending money not because our wallet’s are empty and our credit cards are maxed out, but because we are choosing to create a better financial future for ourselves.

We don’t punch that guy in the face that just blatantly insulted us in front of our peers, because we know that acting from pure rage is never a good idea.

Clearly, acting this way all the time isn’t easy. It sure isn’t automatic, otherwise we’d all be skinny, rich, and spouting peace and love wherever we go.

As a human here on Earth, surrounded by other humans who seem to be competing on an instinctive level, it is certainly hard not to join in the fray.

But as somebody who’s intending to create a much more enlightened life for yourself, your family, and those close to you, it’s something that’s likely on your mind a lot.

One way that can help is to set aside some quite, inner reflective time. A time to just sit, breathe slowly and feel your feelings, and let your deepest thoughts roll through you uninhibited.

This can be kind of hard to get into, (and pretty boring!) but once you see the peace it brings you, it will give you something to look forward to when peace and serenity are the furthest things from your mind.

A kind meditative vacation you can escape to on a daily basis. To regroup and strengthen your higher self, and better calm your instinctive, or irrational self.

Having some help can make it a lot easier. A special collection of sounds and frequencies backed by deep subliminals validating and strengthening your higher self.

You may find an hour a day, right before sleep, is the best way to create that daily, inner restorative vacation. That quiet inner solitude that can give life, and your place in it, whole new meaning.

Secrets Of Your Desires

Listen On The Inside

Listen To Your Inner Silence

I’ve been watching this pretty interesting TV show on Netflix lately.

They are all different episodes with different characters, and all have to do with the future, technology, and some dark side of human nature.

One was pretty frightening.

It was these guys who had to “power” the city by riding these stationary bikes all day long, watching these big TV screens.

They’d get “credits” which they could use to buy food, or entertainment.

They lived in these tiny cubicles, and the walls were pure TV.

Here’s the horrible part. Whenever they played a commercial, the sensors would sound an alarm and charge them credits if they closed their eyes.

Meaning they were forced to watch what the rulers wanted to show them.

Now, this may seem like some horrible future that will never happen, right?

But many of us are TERRIFIED of being left alone with our own thoughts.

Just this morning I saw several joggers, all with mp3 players stuck in their ears.

Are our thoughts so frightening that we need to drown out ANY silence with anything we can find?

It’s been said the problems of humanity can be traced back to our inability to sit alone with our thoughts.

When I was younger I used to do a lot of backpacking. One of my favorite parts was lying awake at night, just listening to the sounds.

Often times we look outside ourselves for solutions, when the answers are within us.

They HAVE to be. Because the only thing outside of us are other people, or the things those other people have created.

Are you willing to let other people, most of whom you’ve never met, and never will, control the flow of thoughts through your mind?

Now, you don’t have to pitch everything and go live in a cave. But it is useful to spend just a few minutes a day with your own thoughts.

Either thinking them or writing them down.

There is so much more to you than you realize now, or will ever realize, or are even capable of realizing.

Life is meant to be one long journey of self discovery, that ONLY gets better.

But ONLY if you decide to take the journey. Nobody is going to take you by the hand and lead you.

Within you lies the secret of everything you desire.

Are you willing to listen?

The Wisdom Of Silence

Listen To Your Friend

Listen To Your Friend

There are many popular myths and stories that are metaphors for self discovery.

A young explorer leaves his home, searching the world for riches.

After his many adventures, he comes home, only to find the riches were there all along. Buried in the last place he’d think to look.

Dorothy was in Oz trying to get home. Battling villains, flying monkeys, and discovering the man behind the curtain (whom she thought held the key) was a fraud. Then she found the power return was with her the entire time.

Long ago, before humans were created, the gods had a problem. In the world was a great power, but they feared humans would misuse it.

No matter where they thought to hide it, they knew humans would find it. On top of the highest mountains, in the bottom of the deepest oceans.

All places men have been to.

Then they found the place we’d never look.

Within ourselves.

Many of us spend our entire lives looking “out there” for the answers. Relationship after relationship. Job after job. Hobby after hobby. City after city.

But the answer lies within.

It always has.

it’s been said that our biggest obstacle to discovering this is lies in our inability to sit with ourselves.

No TV, no smart phone, no music, no friends. Just sitting and listening to the quiet, inner silence.

A silence filled with infinite wisdom, compassion, and understanding.

Consider making it habit of sitting quietly, if only for a few moments, at least once a day.

Quiet your environment. Quiet your mind. Listen for the guidance of your inner sage.

That ancient energy that exists before thought, before awareness.

Before you.

If you make it a habit of cultivating this inner awareness, you may notice some wonderful surprises showing up in your life.

But then again, maybe they’re already there.

How Will The World Remember You?

Get Going On Your Mission

Make Your Mark

It’s pretty good when you have one of those days where all kinds of cool and unexpected things happen.

You leave the house maybe on a Friday night, thinking you’ll hang out with your friends.

Then you meet some interesting people who invite you to a party.

Then at the party you meet other people and go somewhere else.

Kind of like being in some kind of magical “activity stream” where things just keep happening.

Other times it can be pretty boring. Once I was dating this girl, and we had fallen into a rut when we’d go out. She started to accurately predict all the places I’d take her.

Part of the human experience is to let your “explorer” out once in a while. Sure, playing it safe is just as valuable.

Too much of either can get you into trouble.

Play it too safe, and life passes you buy without you really noticing. Become too much of an explorer, and you might get stuck on an island or end up at the bottom of the ocean.

A good way to change things up is to plan spontaneity.

Meaning at least once a week, schedule a few hours to yourself, and specifically NOT make any plans.

Just go out, and go to places you’ve never been before. Talk to people you wouldn’t normally talk to.

The secret of living a fulfilling life is a combination of having a solid plan, AND being able to change gears when an opportunity shows up.

Those that start their own businesses, for example, (and do well) are the folks who have a general idea of what they want, but don’t hesitate when the market goes in a different direction.

Work is another example. You might start out with one type of job, and end up doing something completely different. Something that gets you far more money, and far more recognition of your true skills.

But this WON’T  happen if you are too “risk averse.” You’ve got to take SOME chances. You’ll never make your mark on the world by playing it safe.

Think of it this way. For every inventor, or artist, or musician or explorer that did something amazing, there’s millions, even billions of people who are glad they did.

Which means when YOU fully express your true calling, you’ll actually be helping millions, if not billions of people.

By playing it safe, you’re letting them down.

The world is waiting.

Where Will Your Journey Take You?

Your Path is Waiting

Discover And Define Your Purpose

They say the biggest migration in human history was the California gold rush.

Countless people from the East Coast of the United States moved to the West Coast, when gold was discovered in 1849.

Now, that is a long journey. One a lot of people didn’t make. And the ones who were successful didn’t all find huge golden nuggets.

But there’s something with humans that gets us going on long journeys. So long as we believe there’s something at the end, we’ll get moving.

Some believe this exists on a very deep and subconscious level. Previous human migrations were based on massive climate change. Those that had the desire to uproot and move survived. Those who were content to sit around and wait to see how things played out didn’t.

Today, we still have the deep urge. Only it’s not always an urge to move physically. But it’s there.

Learning, creating, finding new ways to express ourselves.

If we don’t have SOME form of forward momentum, it’s easy to feel lost, stuck and even like there’s “no point.”

Especially today, when good jobs are vanishing faster than ice cubes on a summer sidewalk, it’s hard to find your place.

The good news is that any kind of forward momentum will help. Any kind of small project, exercise program, personal financial goal is better than just sitting around waiting for something to happen.

You were put here to do something great. The purpose of your life is to find out what that is.

Nobody is going to tell you. Nobody is going to hold your hand. Nobody is going to show you the way.

It’s scary, it’s risky, and it’s anything but guaranteed.

But taking bold action in the face of uncertainty is the very juice of life. The reward wouldn’t be so sweet if it was easy.

Since you’re reading this now, you must have SOME idea of your life’s dreams. Your purpose.

Have you started?

Far into the future, when you’ve long passed, what will you be remembered for? What will your contribution be?

What will be your life’s masterpiece?

You are the Hero of your life.

Your Greatest Skill Of All

Your Unlimited Word Power

Essential Language Skills

If you were dropped in the middle of a city you’d never been to, what skills would you need?

I mean if you didn’t know anybody, only had enough money for a couple days worth of food, couldn’t call anybody for help.

Basically on your own.

If you could build up three or four “mind” skills, what would they be?

A bunch of successful entrepreneurs were asked this question. It kind of strips away any kind of idea of relying on your “connections.”

One skill was the ability to talk to strangers effectively. Meaning not to timidly walk up and ask somebody the time, but to interrupt a complete stranger on the street, and self confidently start a lengthy conversation.

Another skill was to be incredibly flexible in your thinking. For example, if you used to be a chef in your old city, and you’re only idea of scratching out a living in this new city was to cook, you may be in trouble.

On the other hand, if you could seize any opportunity that came your way, you’d be in better shape.

One more skill was language. Being able to speak persuasively. After all, you’d need to quickly turn strangers into supporters. Not to go and seize the castle or anything dramatic like that. But you’d at least need to get people on your side.

I suppose you could just sit there and ask people for money, but that may not be the best idea.

If you could convince people that it would be in their best interests to help you, you’d be better off.

If you could further convince people that THEY would be better off as well, then they’d WANT to help you.

And this is the secret gold mine of human communication.

Every single person alive today is a HUGE collection of unfulfilled needs. Nobody is ever satisfied for long. Our mind-body systems are simply not wired like that. We’re always on the move. Always searching to fulfill some need.

When you learn to talk to people in a way to elicit those unmet needs, and show them that by helping you, they’ll also benefit themselves, they’ll help you do anything, create anything and build anything.

Just stop and think for a moment how good it feels to be working with somebody else, and KNOWING that everybody is going to benefit, compared to working alone, or worse, working where you suspect somebody else is getting the better part of the deal.

This is what that corny “win-win” strategy REALLY means.

And right now, on Planet Earth, there are literally BILLIONS of opportunities just waiting for somebody like you.

Get Their Brain To Fall In Love With You

Oh Baby! Keep Talking To Me!

More Secrets Of Mind Magic

One of the cool tricks about covert hypnosis is ambiguity.

This is when a word or phrase can mean a couple of different things.

Sometimes they use these as headlines to catch our attention.

“Eye Drops Off Shelf.”

Does this mean that eye drops can no longer be sold, or a bunch of eyeballs starting rolling around?

This kind of thing makes us do a double take, and catches our attention.

When you can do this conversationally, it works for a couple of reasons.

One is that your listener (or reader) will be trying to figure out which meaning you mean.

This will burn up brain power, decreasing the strength of their “conscious critic.”

That will voice inside our heads that’s always being ultra-skeptical of pretty much everything.

But this technique takes on a lot of power when you make BOTH meanings to sound good to the listener.

For example, If I said:

“You can make more money, and have more sex. And doing this will help you do just that.”

Now, when I said, “do just that,” which was I referring to? Making more money? Having more sex? Or both?

Your brain will likely bounce back and forth between those ideas (sex and money) a little bit longer than normal, which will cause some good feelings.

And if you do this, and keep on talking, and then do it some more, and then keep on talking, something pretty cool will happen.

Your listener (or reader) will start to subconsciously associate those good feelings with you and your message.

And since you know that our feelings drive most of our decisions, this will put you in a VERY good position.

And that is only ONE technique of MANY that is collectively referred to as “conversational hypnosis.”

Are You Frustrated By Your Jigsaw Puzzle?

Understand The Deep Structure

How To Practice Deep Structure

Sometimes you can tell a lot more about what’s unsaid, than what IS said.

Or HOW it is said.

It’s been said that it’s not the notes that make the music, but the spaces in between.

Language is the same way.

Long ago, Chomsky discovered the difference between “surface structure” and “deep structure.”

Now, this was kind of misinterpreted, and applied in places where it didn’t really belong. They even changed the names to “d-structure” and “s-structure” to avoid confusion.

But it doesn’t take away from the idea that there’s the words we say on top, and the meaning we are trying to represent with those words.

Even if you’ve got some brilliant ideas, you’ve got to get them out of your head, through that very small “language filter” and into the heads of others so they not only understand your ideas, but see the value in them.

If you’ve ever thought of something brilliant to say, only to spit out a bunch of jumbled word salad, then you know this isn’t easy.

If you told your friends you were studying “language” they would assume you were studying for a trip to a foreign country, or some class.

If you told them you were studying English, they’d think you were nuts.

Which is why when you DO make it a point to “practice” how you use your words, you’ll have a HUGE advantage over everybody else.

The trick is to first get them talking about what they want, the things they like. Then take your message, WHATEVER it is, and phrase in a way that’s a perfect fit for their brain.

If you’ve ever been in sales, you know it’s a numbers game. Or at least that’s what they tell us. Sure, if you spit out the same memorized pitch to every potential customer, you DO have to rely on numbers.

Kind of like having ONE jigsaw puzzle piece and trying to find a “natural fit.”

But if you take the time to not only elicit what’s important to your customers (or friends or potential lovers) AND structure your communication so they’ll hear it based on what’s important to THEM, then you’ll be in pretty good shape.

Meaning you can take your jigsaw puzzle piece and change it however you want, so it will fit wherever you want.

Two Crucial Aspects Of Life

Inner Game Is Key To Everything

Inner Game vs. Outer Game

There’s always two aspects to everything.

Of course, many things  have many variables, all interdependent, and many that are way beyond conscious comprehension.

But for most things, they can be broke down into a couple of broad categories.

Like movies. Guy movies (action, aliens, horror, zombies) vs. girl movies (romance, drama, etc.)

Or if you’re talking about booze, there’s beer and wine, and then the hard stuff.

If you’re making a cake, there’s the baking part, and then the decorating part.

In music there’s tension, and release.

Human accomplishment is something that is both incredibly complicated, and also incredibly simple, based on how you look at it.

Take making more money, for example. On the outside, there’s a virtual limitless amount of skills you can learn, relationships you can build, products you can help create, sell and otherwise bring to the market.

On the inside, there’s the simple belief that no matter what happens, you’ll succeed.

Outside is filled with endless and ever changing variables.

Inside is either the worry of, “I don’t know if this will work..” vs. the thought of “Yep. I got this. No matter what.”

Once the inside is taken care of, the outside takes care of itself.

This is true no matter what field you look in. Sports, money, romance, business, building your own cult, anything.

The most fundamental component that ALL successful people have is the raw belief that they’ll be successful.

BEFORE they become successful.

Before Bill Gates became a multi-kajillionaire, he believed he could.

Before Alexander conquered much of the known world, he believed that he could.

Before you succeed at anything, you must believe that you will.

And once you believe you wil, you will.

So why limit yourself?

Why not set HUGE goals, HUGE dreams, HUGE plans for your life?

Choose whatever you want, and then set the belief.

Because once that belief is set on the inside, all that stuff on the outside will be easy.

Are You Plagued By Hallucinations?

Create Your Own Custom Hallucinations

Why Not Hallucinate What You Want?

I used to love those 3D pictures, the kind that looked like noise at first.

Then if you stare at them the right way, a cool image appears, suddenly out of nowhere.

Some people are better at “getting it” than others. It usually took me a while.

Most of us aren’t used to looking at a flat object as if it were in three dimensions.

There’s plenty of other images that are specifically designed to “trick” the mind.

Old ladies that suddenly morph into young girls, a lamp that suddenly turns into two people about to kiss, stairs that go up in a loop, but really don’t go up at all.

One of the biggest tricks of the mind is one we play on ourselves.

We can “negatively hallucinate” something, meaning it’s right in front of us, but we can’t see it.

(Guys are particularly good at this, especially when looking for our keys).

Or we can think something is there, when there’s not. Like when somebody looks at us with a plain expression on their face, and we read WAY too much into the situation.

The trouble is that we respond not to reality itself, but our interpretation of reality.

Even if our keys are right there, since we can’t see them, we’ll keep looking, and end up being late to wherever we’re going.

We could have talked to that person, and turned their genuine neutral feelings about us into something positive, but since we imagined they were angry or judgmental or whatever, we never even held eye contact for more than a split second.

The good news it that our perception of reality is TOTALLY flexible, AND it’s TOTALLY up to us.

Do you think our keys really care if we find them or not?

Even better, that neutral person would LOVE for us to turn them into a “positive-feelings” person, so they’re actually hoping we’ll perceive them differently than we have been.

This skill is rarely talked about, let alone taught, but it exists, and learning it is perhaps the most important thing you can do.

Since there’s so much “stuff’ out there to choose from, why not choose things that support you?

Why not “imagine” people are dying for you to talk to them?

Why not “imagine” that opportunities are everywhere, just waiting to scoop them up?

Why not “imagine” that your biggest and most compelling plans in life are not only easy, but the whole reason you were put here?

All you’ve got to do is shift your mind, and you’ll see.
